Patrick Lavoie
COMPOSERPatrick Lavoie is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Lac St Jean, specialising in music for film and TV Series’ both in Québec and abroad.
In 2022 he was awarded Best music theme (All Categories) in the Gémeaux awards for his work on the second series of C’est comme ça que je t’aime (Radio Canada). In 2023 he composed the music for the Irish-Canadian series Clean Sweep(BBC) which saw good succes in Ireland, the UK and Germany.
He began his career with Yves-Christian Fournier’s successful feature film Tout est parfait (2008), and the pair collaborated again with the film Noir (2015).
We can hear Patrick’s music in several québécois series such as Les Révoltés (TVA) and the popular Blue Moon (TVA), both produced by Fabienne Larouche, As well as on 72 episodes of Clash (in collaboration with Martin Granger). Patrick and Martin also composed the music for the 3 seasons of Toute la vie (Radio Canada).
Patrick wrote the music for the Critically acclaimed series’ L’Homme qui aimait trop (Noovo, Crave), Demain des Hommes(Radio-Canada) and Feux (Radio-Canada) by Serge Boucher.
In 2015, his soundtrack for the Martin Talbot film Henri Henri (2014), was nominated for Best Original Score at the Canadian Screen Awards, and since then he also received 4 Gémeaux award nominations for “Blue Moon” and “C’est comme ça que je t’aime”
He has collaborated with Alain Fournier on short films Le Temple, Géant Beaupré, Le Poids du vide, Cité entre les murs, Sale Gueule, and has composed for dozens of TV commercials.
